The Cost of the Distraction Was Too High
I am at a wedding (or some kind of formal event) when the love of my life turns up as someone else's date. I feel this horrible ache in the pit of my stomach and also totally betrayed as he has come with my mother's best friend who is an old family friend. To make matters worse, they come and sit at my table. The room is beautifully decorated with candles and fairy lights.
He is wearing a light baby blue dress shirt which is made out of soft flannelet type material and a tie.
Out of the corner of my left eye I see that they are holding hands and again the agony of the situation flows through me. I can't stand it anymore and decide to go and get a drink of tequila. I walk down to the bar which is set in a beautiful outdoor garden area with rolling hills and beautiful large trees. On top of the bar I see these beautiful glass tubes with gold liquid boiling inside. Someone explains that they are different kinds of exotic beers.
I am concerned that I will only be able to have one drink as I am driving and wonder if it will be enough to dull the pain and try to calculate how much time I have. As I get to the bar there are two different levels to it and it becomes confusing as to where you are suppose to order your drink from. I finally order my tequila shot and go to the end of the bar to collect it - they have packaged it like a take away item.
I ask them how much it costs and he says $105 - I think he's joking and laugh, asking him again how much it costs. He tells me it's $105 as they are a stand alone entity. I refuse to pay that much money as it is totally overpriced and walk away disappointed that I won't be able to reduce the pain . . .
